Instead, sell off the 6GB DDR2, get a good AM3 mobo with 4GB DDR3...better upgrade path...You can also instead get the 955 instead of 965...

+1 to gkay09 for selling the DDR2 RAM(DDR2 is getting expensive.You can sell it for quite a decent price.)

im not gunna go with that mobo unless its extermy important to get beacuse my dad is paying 608 and i gettgine 8gb ddr3 idgaf but is that mobo really that much better

^ Why do you want 8GB ?? Really unless you will be doing PRO photo editing/ rendering and 3D work, it doesnt make sense...

As for that mobo, no it is not extremely important that you get that mobo...but it is more upgradeable as it comes with SATA 6GB/s and USB3.0 and also supports x8x8 Crossfire...
Why not get the X4 955 with that mobo ? It will certainly save some money and difference between the 955 and 965 is minimal...
