1 TB Western Digital Hardrive wont recognize but does power up

I have a 1 TB Western Digital HD that has valuable information on it that i would like to have back.

Not too long ago my computer had the blue screen of death and wouldn't recognize my hard drive so I changed enclosures. It worked fine for a while but now it won't show up in device manager or anything. It does power on, I hear it spinning, and I can tell the computer wants to recognize it because when turn it on the sound that notifies you that you've plugged something into the usb port plays. Does that mean that the drive has failed?

The model of the HD is: Western Digtal WD10EADS - 11M2B1

Yes, go to their web site and download data lifeguard for windows and see if the drive tests ok.

Thanks guys. I went to their website and downloaded the data lifeguard and found out my drive failed.

If the drive is under warranty and it failed data lifeguard, WD will replace the drive fro free.
