I have been running an 8800gtx until it died on me, so i decided to go for an ati 5770 instead.

I have properly gotten rid of all the nvidia software but my games will not run.

do i have to reinstall all my games for the ati?

plus when I run try to run any game the cpu usage is suddenly 100%. I close the non playable game down and cpu usage is normal

I have virus checked the pc - that is fine.

Hi All,

I have a home built system which consists of an i7 system, gigabyte extreme mobo and 6gb 1333 ram.

I had been running an 8800gtx until it died on me, so i decided to go for an ati 5770 HD instead.

I have got rid of all the Nvidia software properly using a driver sweeper software from techgeeks website.

I use my pc for college work, web design and the such.

In the past few days I can't run my games, even a simple game clocks up 100% cpu usage and as soon as I double click the icon it goes as though it going to run and then drops back to the desktop. the game is still running, but i can't play it and cpu is 100%

if i play ut3 it goes through the opening sequence without me being able to see it and then crashes and again cpu is 100%.

Any ideas people???
