  1. You have the option for a PCI Adaptor (no slot) USB card that runs off of one of the extra USB motherboard headers or a PCI Card that runs of the PCI slot. These typically give you an extra four slots through your PCI slot
  2. Yes - I needed an extra set of USB pin headers for my card reader and this is what I purchased - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815201008&cm_re=USB_pin_header_card-_-15-201-008-_-Product
Later I decided to free-up the PCI slot and purchased 2 special USB cables and connected the card reader to these cables which in turn I plugged in to the rear USB ports. Here are the special USB cables that I purchased: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_81_250&products_id=1116
    Hope this helps

The newegg link you sent says it has 2 internal pin connectors but the picture only shows one. Is there 2--9 pin internal connectors?

It has ONE set of 9-pin USB header, but that is called 2 headers in all the tech specs (same story with the headers on the motherboard - my mobo states that it has 4 USB pin headers (2 sets of 9 pin headers)
This should clear up things. Look into the special USB cables. I removed my pin header card and bought 2 of the special USB cables and plugged the ends into 2 USB outlets at the back of the computer. Works well.
