 after continuous evaluation and testing i have finally come to the conclusion that either my mobo or cpu is faulty. please help me here

BSOD ANALYSIS USING WHOCRASHED:
1) processor 2 or 3 clock interrupt not received
2) irql less than or equal to
3) page fault due to memory being accessed in some dispatch location
4) constant reboots during booting and then standard boot procedure follows

i have a good feeling (assume) that my mobo is gone as when i put my gpu in it it get even more errors with the ati drivers causing bsod. i tried updating etc but it was no good. then i plugged it in my friends comp and it worked great. so gpu is fine. so is my new ram and hdd which i tested in the similar fashion.

my cpu runs prime95 for 1 hour without any errors so think it is fine. please tell me if my assumption is right. thanks in advance. :D

also if possible please suggest an alternative for replacement (<150$). :ange:

specs:
msi g31 mobo (g31m2-v1)
intel core 2 quad q6600 (LGA 775)
320gb hdd
4gigs ram
seasonic psu 620w.

Solution
It's more likely to be the motherboard than the CPU.

I really like the Gigabyte Core2 motherboards (I own 5). But most of the later ones use DDR3 RAM.

newegg has the Gigabyte G41 using DDR2 RAM in stock right now:

Good news is that it is only about $60. And if the G31 board was serving your needs adequately, the G41 should be OK. If you can find them somewhere, the Gigabyte P45 boards are about $100 - $150.
