More about good 8800gt
  1. It should be fine unless the power supply is very cheap or very old.
  2. Its about 2 1/2 years old and recently serviced.
    Good enough?
And i was searching for an 8800gt but couldnt find one in nearby stores. They say that nvidia stopped manufacturing for it

Yeah it was replaced by the 9800GT. This EVGA one is actually pretty cheap after rebate.

    Compare 8800GT/9800GT here:,1829.html?prod%5B3624%5D=on&prod%5B3635%5D=on

Your power supply should be fine but you really can not "service" a power supply. that just means someone looked at it and it worked ;)
  4. Thank you very much for your help!!

Hm i look at 9800gt and it was preetty nice.

Another prob is that my system supports PCI-E 1...not 2
So can it run on my system?
IFnot could you provide me some links on 9800GT PCI-E 1?
And my PSU was not workning for a it fixed..(antec) :na:

    Thank you very much
  5. The pci-e 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with 1.0 slots so it should work fine. ive been running an 8800gt in 1.0 slot for a year now with no problems. I also have a 450 watt powersupply that works just fine with it.

The 8800gt isnt close to using the bandwidth of a 1.0 slot little own a 2.0 I think.
