I was using a Sapphire radeon 6850 for a little over a year and a half and it was great for what I needed it for but just last night it appears to have crapped out and I'm having to use my old 5450 in the meantime.

To be clear, I want a card that will be on par or out perform the 6850, any suggestions would be great. My price range goes up to 170.00.

So far I've found a few candidates but don't know much about them and seem some questions answered.

EVGA 650: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4501123&Sku=E145-0650
I'm not sure how good of a card it is though I've heard good things about the 650ti and I don't know much about EVGA. I also don't know anything about PCI-Express 3.0 and if that will work on my mobo. Last thing, can I use this card with a single monitor?

XFX Radeon 6770: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=869628&CatId=28
I know a little bit more about this card and see it might be a little less powerful than the 6850 I had, is that true?

Thank you for any help/advice and any suggestions for a card less than 180.00 that's greater than a 6850 would be great. Have a good weekend!

+1 to the 7850. It's a very good card and will not only fit the job, it will exceed the competition.

This one is the 2GB version and I've had a few experiences with PowerColor and they've all been pretty good cards. It's a little more than you price ranged, but the 2GB will prove more powerful when it comes to newer games where the ram will be needed for textures. And as an incentive, you'll be getting Tomb Raider and Bioshock infinite as a package deal for the time being! So it's definitely worth the extra few bucks on the card with two games and the extra ram! :)
