Hey new guy on the forums,
i have a puzzling conundrum, My computer of three years was working fine and dandy when one day it just up and shuts down. I tried turning it on but it would start like an ignition to a car, only coming on for a few seconds before shutting down again. Distraught, I unplugged the PSU for about 15 minutes and plugged it back in again, THE THING STARTED TO SMOKE!! Now, i took it out of the case and through it to the scrap heap, bought a new power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371015&cm_re=earthwatts-_-17-371-015-_-Product), and installed it. However to my dismay, it would keep the stand-by power led blinking, signifying that the stand-by power bus was constantly being overloaded, so try unplugging it and plugging it back in to make sure it wasn't a short, to no avail. A week later i returned it for another power supply (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159079&Tpk=coolmax%20v-600) only this one dimmed the SB_power led, thus signifying it didn't get enough juice. I am concerned as to what i need to do before i decide to buy another PSU.
Although, the puzzling part comes from the fact that i was using a 380 watt PSU for those three years. This really doesn't make much sense to me. HELP!
