Will I be able to game on a 40 inch Samsung tv?

I have a Samsung 7 series tv and wondered if I should be able to game on it with either crossfire 5870s or sli gtx 480s.
I am just building a new pc with i7 930 and the new Asus motherboard out soon, 6 gig ram, ssd etc..

even more down- to-earth rig could run full hd resolution just fine, that's only 1920x1080, just like 24'' pc monitor, the extra inches doesnt mean s#|+. single 5870 will do just fine, imo

I see. I was thinking it would be higher res but you're right its only 1080.
