Hello,
How to make this MB work with 8GB: I can not install any OS x64. Is there a trick to do so?
Thanks.

DQ965GF supports a maximum of 8GB disposed on 4 slots. I bought 4 x 2GB DDR2 800Mhz and the bios setup recognizes 4 bank of 2GB in dual channel manner, giving a 8GB total ram. The linux memtest recognizes 8GB also.
I searched for its specifications on Intel and I discovered this MB support only 4GB for 800MHz and 8GB for 667 or 533 MHz.
It's amazing and seems to play a loosing game.
Refer to http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15033/eng/DQ965GF_TechProdSpec.pdf.
I got success installing Ubuntu 10.10 amd64 but the 'free' command shows only 3,260MB of total ram.

I have the same motherboard and I can say it sucks.. I have two memory sticks of 1gb 800mhz each and the stupid motherboard doesn't work (my cpu is core2duo 1066mhz fsb so that's not the issue). I have to manually set it to run at 667mhz in order to work.. Have you encountered any similar problem?

My MB works fine with 800MHz memory stick of 1GB, limited up to 4GB. Now, it has 4 x 2GB of 667MHz installed on it, but I did not reinstall Windows x64 yet, the current Windows XP is running with /PAE option, but it can see only 3.24 GB.
