ESATA port - 6 gbps or 3 gbps?

I'm building a system with a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 mobo and a Rosewill Challenger case.

The case has a front-panel eSATA connector; I'm trying to connect it to one of the SATA ports on the motherboard (the motherboard lacks a dedicated eSATA header but I've read elsewhere you can connect it to the regular SATA ports if you set them to AHCI mode). I'm not sure whether the eSATA port is 3 gbps or 6 gbps; does anyone know how I can figure this out, so I know what port to plug it into? I don't want to waste a 6 gbps port if the eSATA port I have will only run at 3 gbps max (my mobo has 4 SATA 3 gbps ports and 4 SATA 6 gbps ports).

The port is black, if that matters.
