I would like to know if I it would be possible to use 20mm or 12mm thickness fans for my 240mm AlphaCool NexXxos ST30 radiator. There is not a lot of space between the top of the case and the motherboard. I have seen youtube videos of people installing Corsair H100i which has a total of 52mm (Rad + Fan) thickness. My goal is to add a 240mm on the top and either a 120mm in the top/rear and 120mm in the bottom or 240mm on the top and a 240 externally in the rear. Since I am running Crossfire 7950, I want to ensure I have enough cooling in my loop.

Here is my current build:

Thanks

Yes, the goal is to install water blocks on the CPU and both GPUs. In the end, I will have two 230mm intake fans (front and side) and then 240mm radiator ontop pushing air out. The final pc will be either an external 240mm or two 120mm radiators internally. From what I have read and seen online, you basically want a 120mm radiator for every waterblock.

yes you read correctly.. I would recommend 360 worth of rad space. 480 for some headroom ( unless you're like me and go overkill ) I have 720 worth... just a word of warning.. once you get the bug... it is addictive

If you have not purchased the parts.. you can use a corsair tx650.. or 750 save yourself money both on purchase, and on your power bill. a pc is most efficient when run between 60-80% of the power supply's rated wattage

Personally I do not trust OCZ. on several counts. I know the vertex 4 is a different controller but still leery. I would grab samsung 840 or 830, Corsair m4, adn then vertex 4 in that order. ( personal preference )

Mushkin makes awesome ram. I use redlines myself. ddr3 1600 6-8-6-24 and have had them running 1900.

and then my question: is there a reason you are getting an aftermarket cooler if you are putting it under water? ( of course all of this is null if you already have these parts )

The link I posted is what I currently have built. I wanted to see what temps I was getting w/o water cooling first. I plan on getting the water cooling parts this Friday. Unfortunately the case is not the best in terms of supporting water cooling. I went with the yellow Mushkin because the mobo is black and yellow. I plan on making it a black/yellow theme with yellow liquid.
