I have a phenom 1045t stock clocked at 2.7, and I currently have an ASUS M4N68T-M V2 motherboard. I have read that this motherboard is terrible for overclocking (I know absolutely nothing about overclocking, but looking into doing it since 2.7 is so low)

My questions is: Is the ASUS M5A97 a decent board for overclocking? There's a sale on Newegg for 10 dollars off, and it's got all of the things I have been looking for in a board. Sata3 ports for my upcoming purchase of SSD's, SP/DIF connection, 2 PCI-E slots for CrossfireX, USB 3.0 etc. It's not a huge discount, but it might be the driving factor in me purchasing a board.

Is this a good board, and is it good for OC'ing my CPU?

I should post my specs too:

Phenom ii x6 1045t stock at 2.7
Radeon HD 6870 Double D 1gb stock
ASUS M4N68T-M V2 mobo
8 gigs of 1600mhz ddr3 G.skill Ripjaws X
Corsair GS600 600 watt psu
Rosewill Destroyer case (4 120mm fans, 1 has LED's)

Just trying to post full specs for transparency. I hope that with all of this, I can overclock using the Auto Tune feature in the BIOS. I know 600 watt psu is cutting it close? But I hope it would suffice to get my cpu to like 3.4 or something. 2.7 is just laughable and terrible :/
