Audio Channel Configuration (ASUS Sabertooth X58)

According to the manual, the motherboard manual indicates that the orange output is for central/subwoofer.

I have a stand-alone subwoofer that I would like to add to my sound system for my desktop. I tried connecting it to the orange socket, but it seems to be only outputting for central. Does anyone know what I could do to get it working? It seems to think that my subwoofer is connected to my side speakers, which its not. I'm not sure how to change this.

Thanks.

Two things:

1. have you configured the setup properly thru the audio utility ?

2. You can't just take a standard home audio system subwoofer (which takes it's signal from a pre-amp / amp combo) and plug it into a low level output. The signal needs amplification. Computer system speaker sets (i.e. Logitech 5500's) are equipped w/ built in amplification.
