No sound

Hello, I recently replaced the power supply to our pc. I have an elitegroup motherboard k8m800-m2. there is no sound now. I have loaded the drivers again and repaired windows xp and confirmed the device is working and not muted through control panels. Is there a way to check if the connections are just broken or is there something else missed? All help appreciated.

try placing the old power supply back into the system, if the sound restores something's wrong with the motherboard power connector or the mobo itself.
