Solution
As everyone mentioned, I confirm that you need to get the z or p series. I personally have the z68x-ud3h and its phenomenal in my opinion. If I remember right it runs about 130$-140$

hell yeah you should overclock it. The k series is unlocked and only runs at 3.3GHz stock as you mentioned. Right now I have mine stable at 4.5GHz with only 1.345 vcore and dont even hit but 61c on my hottest core while running prime95.
You payed the money for the chip you got, and that is one of the main features of it. I decided to overclock due to wanting to get my monies worth, and im pretty much addicted to the information.

Overclocking will run you.
haha.

And 4.0GHz is a low clock, I dont think that you will notice too much of a difference on that clock. But then again, I didnt start at that clock speed. I started at about 4.2-4.3GHz. But its up to you what you feel comfortable doing.
