I am looking at getting a new hard drive and am wonder which if these two drives is the better option. Western Digital has a longer warranty but the Hitachi is a lot cheaper. Western digital says it has dual processors. I have not seen a performance chart for these two drives. Is one faster? They both are 2TB, 64MB Cache, SATA III, 3.5" drives

Western Digital Caviar Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
5 year warranty
for $203.95

or

HGST Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723020BLA642 (0f12115) 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
3year warranty
for $139.99

The speed difference between the two will not be noticable without a benchmark software. I would suggest getting the Hitachi and saving $60!
You will be glad you did later on, believe me!
The warranty difference is not really important, if the disk has a problem it will show itself within the first month of use, maybe less.
If that doesn't help you decide you can check the HDD Charts here at Tom's!
