I cant get online with router

Hello,
i can connect to the internet when connected directly to the modem, but when i connect the router i cant get online. it ma connect but it moves really slow. my computer is sitting right beside the router and i still have this issue. i have spoken to belkin tech support but they have not been any help. anyone else have any suggestions?

Double check how the router says it is configured to connect to your ISP. Personally I had a belkin that went out after a year or so. 0 problems from my netgear though.
