I7 3770k @ Stock - Base clock problems?

Hey guys,

Looking for someone to clarify for me if this is normal behavior.

- All settings default.

I'm currently using a i7 3770k w/ Hyper 212+ on a Gigabyte Z77x-UD3H rev 1.1. After installing necessary chipset drivers and windows updates, I opened up RealTemp from my 1TB Internal Storage HDD and started played some Battlefield 3. After about 30min to 60min of play time, I checked the max temperatures recorded on RealTemp and almost shat my pants when I saw it was hitting 80C-82C. Previously, I had a i5 3570k and sold it with my existing motherboard and while I've had it, max temperatures only hit 60C with the current Hyper 212+ I'm using.

Do you guys think it may be just a bad CPU? or maybe the motherboard?

- I'm about to reseat the heatsink and see if the temperatures improve; I'll post back as soon as I know the heatsink was the problem.

Note: Using Arctic Silver 5 TIM.

Thanks in advance.
