Upgrading Existing Video Card - Dimension 9200

Hi, I have a Dimension 9200 and want to upgrade my existing video card for gaming. I have a budget of $150-200 for the card and was wondering what people would recommend.

The computer has a 375W power supply and there appears to be plenty of room inside the case for larger cards.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

what cpu do you have? what is your monitors native resolution?

When I check my system information it shows the follwoing for my processor:

Processor x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel ~1861 Mhz

The specs for the monitor show the native resolution as 1680 x 1050

Also, sorry if I make you ask a lot of questions about my system I'm not sure what information I need to post for you to be able to provide an answer.

no problem just want to make sure we give you the correct recommendations

this is actually your CPU the Intel Core 2 E6300, its not very fast

I'll also assume you are still running XP unless you upgraded.

but you do have the Dell 375w which is solid can peak above 400w

the ATI 4770 or 4850 will work well, both where under $100 last I looked. If you want to go the Nvidia route you have the 9800GT but the ATI would offer you better performance for your dollar. No need to spend more then $100 for your video card.

Thanks. I'll look at those cards. You're right about XP, and my processor has aged a bit, but with the card bump I'm hoping I can play some games that have come out in the last 2 years.

Also thanks for the speedy responses.
