Added a second internal hard drive to my computer as a slave. Went to disk management to format. Added a primary plus two extended partitions without problem. Partitions recognized in "my computer" with assigned drive letters. Can save and access files saved to the slave drive. Everything seems OK.
Here's the problem. When I turn off or restart computer all the files and formatting disappears off the slave. When I check disk management, my partitions are gone and the drive is listed as unallocated space. Tried swapping out hard drive but same problem so apparentlyt not a defective hard drive. Why does the formatting disappear? How do I format the slave so it is recognized on restart? I am running windows XP.
