#10009 error for phoenix bios

Hello,
I tried starting my HP laptop. All I saw was a black screen with an error message WINDOWS ERROR RECOVERY. I did a Phoenix BIOS Setup Utitlity Test. The memory test was fine but for the hardware this error code was displayed - #10009 - Replace Hard drive.
I tried re - booting the system and using the systems recovery but all that failed. HELP PLEASE! Is it really the hard drive?
