Top end gaming monitor?

I'm getting a 5970 in a few days so I'd like to know what screen I need to upgrade to, I'll mostly be using my monitor for heavy gaming, picture viewing, watching movies and some editing.

Some things I'd like in my new monitor would be:
High res (2560x1600 or 2560x1440)
Fast response time for gaming, doesn't need to be the fastest but something that is good.
Very good colours, brightness, and contrast.

I was thinking of getting the 3008WFP but I heard the reponse time isn't so good, so I'm leaning towads the U2711, which I would prefer for: more desk space, faster response time and because it's cheaper

If anyone could give me any ideas that would be great.

the u2711 seems to have the better color accuracy w/ dell going as far as to advertise it's a 12bit monitor. The color accuracy is a big plus for picture viewing and that it comes pre calibrated is just the icing on the cake. The 3008wfp supports 16.7m colors making it a 8 bit I believe.

Get 3 good 1080p monitors to hook up in eyefinity. Of course they will either need to have display port, at least on one, or you will have to use a diplayport to HDMI/DVI/or VGA adapter.

i would say to also get ones that can rotate to keep the aspect ratio closer to 16:9 as apposed to 48:9 (if kept horizontal)
