HI ZIPZOOM, THANKS FOR THE REPLY.

ITS A P4 SINGLE CORE, OVERCLOCKABLE TO 3.7 BUT RUNS SILLY HOT. I KNOW THE E2180 IS A BUDGET CPU BUT THE MOTHERBOARD IM GETTING WITH IT CAN SUPPORT THE QUADS AND CORE 2 EXTREME SO I WILL BE UPGRADING IN A FEW MONTHS.

WHICH CPU WOULD YOU RECOMMEND ON A BUDGET?

Remember that your motherboard probably doesnt support 45nm LGA 775 chips, so forget the 8xxx and 9xxx core2duos and quads. the 6xxx series is what you should be able to get.

Also, did you forget caps lock was on for a bit? :D

i did indeed lol. im not planning on using this board for the dual core. i was just wondering if the e2180 2gz was much faster than my current cpu.

most games if not all these days require dual core as min requirements. i know the e2180 chips are entry level but i will upgrade to a better chip once i have more funds.
