Nb frequency problem?

hi all,
i have overclocked my 965be to 3.6
i then set my nb frequency to 2600mhz 1.28v
when i start cpu z to check setting there it says nb frequency is stock 2000mhz!!
any help is nice

Obviously your board won't handle it and resets it,
give the Black edition sticky a good run through but I'm certain that 2600 is way too fast for a mere 200MHz clockspeed, 2k should be fine

Have you tried any different monitoring softwares like Aida64 Hardware info siss soft sandra etc?
CPUz is not always 100%correct infact none of the softwares are.

OP, are you looking at the HT speed on cpu-z main tab or the NB speed under the memory tab?

i think you are correct in saying the mobo resets it moto!
i dropped it down to 2200mhz

when do you think it is worth overclocking nb frequency then?

I'd say 2600-2800Mhz on the N/B would be ideal for a phenom II at 3.8Ghz, but if your chip/motherboard can't handle that then just get the northbridge as high as you can.

I'd leave it as close to 2000 as is possible, maybe 2400 for 4GHz if you get that high
