Setup two nics to work as one on windows xp

I have a desktop with two Realtek RTL8139 nics and one onboard intel pro 100 ve. I use a scientific atlanta cable modem. I was wondering if I can use both realtek nics on the single cable connection.

I would appreciate detailed answers as I am a newbie. Thanks in advance

More about setup nics work windows
  1. No, you only get 1 IP address.
  2. Is there anything else that could be done with this combination. I was thinking about splitting the modem port into two using a swith or hub and connecting the two nics to it.

Is there any software which could team these two nics ?

My idea is to make my os look as two different connection on a single pc.

  3. What are trying to accomplish? Your Internet connection is slower than either of the NICs.
