Question about ddr2 800, its runnin at 400 ?

I have 8gigs of DDR2 800 ram, g.skill, all the same brand.

So I opened cpu-z tool and I'm looking at this, http://img3.imageshack.us/f/awdawdawdawd.png/

it says the DRAM frequency is at 400 mhz, my question is.. shouldn't it be reading 800?

Sorry if this is a noob question lol. Just wondering whats up with it.

You memory is running at 800MHz.

Your RAM is DDR (double data rated) so you take the speed shown in CPU-Z and times it by two... Hence 400MHz x 2 = 800MHz.

I see. Sorry bit new at this thanks for info. Checked in bios and set it to ddr2 800 manual just to be sure lol.

^exactly.. Check in BIOS.. It'll show the actual operating speed.. CPU-Z always shows the base clock..

I 'really' REALLY R-E-A-L-L-Y...wish CPUz would put a 'Box' -> 'Speed' in the SPD tab across from 'Slot X' and above 'Correction', and in the Memory tab below 'Size'.
