Hello everyone,

Just had a quick question. I'm having some difficulties mounting my processor onto my motherboard. I bought both of them this morning. I'm trying to mount a i7-960 onto the Asus Sabertooth X58. Both of these parts are compatible with each other. Thing is, after placing the processor onto the prongs, I can't close the metal lid and then the clip. Am I doing something wrong? I'm following the youtube "how to's", but it doesn't seem to work. I don't want to force it, as it is a extremely delicate (and expensive) component.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ahem, If you have the CPU properly aligned as per instructions, then it will take a little force to lock it in place, there are alignment markings on the CPU and the socket, like a bright dot/triangle or some such thing..:)
