The Core 2 Extreme X6800 (Conroe) as listed as being supported by the Intel G41 and G43 chipsets by a number of motherboards manufacturers (e.g., Gigabyte and Intel). However, the X6800 Conroe is not listed as a supported CPU on the Asus website for equivalent G41 and G43 chipsets. In a number of instances, G41 and G43 chipsets are listed as supported on reseller’s website (e.g., Newegg), but not listed on the linked Asus product pages. QX6800’s are typically listed…
Can anyone confirm compatibility or lack of for the Core 2 Extreme X6800 (Conroe) and Asus Intel G41 and G43 based motherboards. Specific boards that I have looked at include the following:
-P5G43T-M PRO (first choice if compatible)
-P5G41T-M/CSM
-ASUS P5G41-M LE/CSM
-ASUS P5G41C-M LGA
-ASUS P5G41-M LE/CSM
My P965 board died and I want to find a Micro AT ATX or possibly an ATX replacement for the CPU. Any help on the above boards or a recommendation for a replacement would be much appreciated. Thank you.
