hello,

i have been out of the PC component world and i cant seem to find the answer to a few things i came across while ordering a new CPU+mobo :ange:

i am looking to order a amd 945 cpu. there are three models of 945: http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUSideBySide.aspx?id=619&id=598&id=588

HDX945FBK4DGI: C2 125W vcpu: .875- 1.5V
HDX945WFK4DGI: C2 95W vcpu: .85 - 1.425V
HDX945WFK4DGM: C3 95W vcpu: .85- 1.4V

note that WFK4DGI & WFK4DGM have the same wattage and almost save vcpu.
i understand that C3 has C1E, which makes the 95W possible on WFK4DGM.

but y does WFK4DGI, with C2 stepping have 95W? what is the difference between this and FBK4DGI (C2 with 125W) that enabled lower wattage? given that are C2, will there be any significant change in power consumption? also what will be the difference between WFK4DGI and C3 stepping one in terms of wattage and performance.

reason y im concerned is that i only have a thermaltake 420W PSU 25A (2yr old now) and a XFX 9600GT XT. i donot have cash to get a new PSU at this time.and also i have to upgrade my bios is i want to add C3 CPU, which im not too keen on

note that i have no interest in OCing or heavy gaming (but i do game :kaola: ). i just want a PC what wont feel THAT slow after lets say 5years.
