AMD Athlon 3600 DDR2 Ram 512mb 667 MHz. Motherboard MCP61PM-HM (AM2 SOCKET).HP BRANDED SYSTEM. MY PROCESSOR FAULTY..CAN I REPLACE AMD ATHLON X2 240 PROCESSOR.IF NO PLS GIVE ME SUITABLE PROCESSOR NUMBERS..

Any cpu upgrades have to be listed on hp's website. Chances are the newer am3 cpus won't work due to different voltage specs and cpu codes. You can change to any micro atx board you choose, but will have to get a new windows keycode for a non hp board.
