So did they change any from the BETA version to the final ?

Actually, I find it you OC at all in CCC, it raises my 2-D clocks to 500/750.

I think the final is actually missing a few things the preview had, though I am not sure on this.

I updated my drivers and went from the following in 3Dmark Vantage. i usually do 2-3 runs and screen shot the best result. They are always really close anyways.

With stock 5870 (which is what it usually is at):
18342 --> 19030

With 5879 @ 950/1300:
19759 --> 20436

edit: These were from 10.2 to 10.3

I edited my post. My results were from 10.2 to 10.3.

Hadn't run any game benches, so I have to go by Vantage.

By making profiles,here is an example for HD 5970:
1_Open CCC and choose Overdrive tab,unlock the settings(by clicking on the " Gold Key" icon)
2_Go top options,profile and choose profile manager.
3_In the composition tab,choose "The following settings" and in the "ATI Radeon HD 5900 series"make sure only ATI overdrive is checked.
Then enter a profile name,then save and close it(Do not activate).
4_Go to C:\Users\Your UserName\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\Profiles (Its hidden so make sure you unlock hidden files and folders)
5_Open the profile with wordpad and do this edits:
<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="40000" /> (default is 15700)

<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_0">
<Property name="Want_0" value="90000" /> (default is 30000)

and for the second card:

<Feature name="CoreClockTarget_1">
<Property name="Want_0" value="40000" />

<Feature name="MemoryClockTarget_1">
<Property name="Want_0" value="90000" />

Save the changes and close.

6_Open CCC,in options tab go to profiles,profile manager and choose the profile that you saved before and then click on Activate and close.

Now your cards will idle @ 400/900 and you should not experience any more problems in 2D mode.

So, did anyone go from 10.3a (preview) to 10.3 (official)? I'm trying to decide whether it is worth the upgrade, or if the differences are nil.

I went from 10.3a to the official release, didnt see much difference in performance to be honest.

For those wondering about the difference from 10.3a and 10.3, I Just updated from 10.3a preview to 10.3 release and I saw a slight drop in performance. It is negligible. I think I will revert and take whatever I can get.

I'm running a Q9550 @ 3.6 on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P rev 1.6 motherboard with two XFX HD 5770's in crossfire.

Here is the Unigine Heaven Benchmark with 10.3a

Here is the Benchmark with 10.3 release.

There have been very little changes to my system, I installed 10.3a this last Sunday. I ran three benches and they were consistent. I tried to compare apples to apples

I only tested Dirt 2 so far, and the improvments were huge. I was getting 53 minimum and 63 average, and now I get 66 minimum and 84 average. BIG difference. This is at 1920x1080 8xAA Ultra settings.

PS: LOL at the guy benching 1024x768 on low settings in the Heaven benchmark. Time for a new monitor
buddy. ;)  I get 38fps on the heaven benchmark, but that's with 1920x1080 8xAA 16xAF, everything else at
DX11 settings. I was only getting about 34fps before, with the 10.1 hotfix.

Time: 254.13
Frames: 9906
FPS: 38.98
Scores: 981.906

I got a 5850...I benchmarked it last night on Batman: AA & got an average of 53 fps with every setting high and running on 1920x1080. Is this below or above average?

Usually I don't try to "artifically" inflate mine, like you obviously did. :na:  Anyway, that's enough flaming for me today.

Back on topic: The 10.3's seem fine to me. If I run into any problems though, I'll just go back to the 10.2 hotfix. All was good for me with that one across all the games I play.

I've been getting BSODs on 10.3a and 10.3.... Have not had the time to figure out for sure if it was them or not (i pulled my GPU OC back a bit... was happening during flash games, and desktop).

Anyone else had stability problems? My CPU still seems stable though I'll run it through its paces tonight (on 10.2 again) to be sure.

How did I "artificially" inflate my benchmark by posting the screenshots? Benchmarks are relative. These were the settings I choose and posted them. I had to use the same settings for both benchmarks.

I only used these settings because they are the default settings. In essence you are calling me a lair, which I am not.

I was kinda curious about your posted benchmark? Care to post a screen shot?

My first thought was it was the driver, as I had not seen the BSOD before i upgraded and have not again since I removed it... though it could be an issue with one of my overclocks... I'll have to look into it more.

Well, I certainly have seen drivers mess with overclocks. Hard to prove though if it isn't consistent.
