Hello,

I have recently assembled a new computer. When checking with Speedfan I noticed that "AUX" reports 86 degrees C, which seems to be very hot.

The motherboard is a ASUS P7P55D-E LX and the case is Antec P183.

My two questions is:

1. What is "aux"? :)

2. Is there anything wrong or dangerous with the this temperature?

Best solution

1. We often don't know!
2. It's a mistake, don't worry about it. If it makes you happier download a second temp program like hwmonitor to double check.

So it could be different things in different hardware bundlings?

I will take a look at the hwmonitor program you mention.

I have now tried hwmonitor, and it does report the same thing. Here auxtin is very hot.

The temperature does seems to vary some, between 73C to 85, so I guess it is reading something and not just displaying some random value.

What could that be? And what can I do about it?
