Hello I'm new to Overclocking Memory & Not sure on what I have to do to overclock Ram?? here what I have can I overclock these sticks??

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I have Total of 12Gb memory ram all together & I have 2 both sticks in Slots 1&2 & 8gb 3&4 slot is that the way its suppose to go??

yes you can :)

go to advance memory timing setting in bios setem up 1600MHz 9 9 9 24 and keep the volt same 1.5v
then restart and check with memtest each at a time and then all together to see if this stable you can tighten the timing later on.

oh ya so I can overclock these then Nice :)  so do I use Profile 1 X.M.P when doing this or just leave it off?? So I set my 1333 to 1600Mhz & Timing 9 9 9 24? & leave the voltage on Memory at 1.5v? I don't know how to do this so learning first time ;)  How do I use Memtest I installed Program on USB & boot it & it comes up but it doesnt Test or anything shows me my CPU & RAM SPec that it no Testing I try to hit Enter to Test but still nothing :/

xmp ( Intel xtreme profile ) off for manual clock

memtest website has all the info you need.

so do I keep Raising the Dram Freq till I'm not Stable or how does it work lol? & just leave the Dram Voltage at 1.5volts dont Raise it?? what do I put for the Timing & stuff since I know its 7-7-7-21?

Thanks for your Help

I got it at 1800Mhz with Dram Voltage of 1.55v & it booted up everything just fine at 1.5v I was getting WER Errors which me not Stable! is it ok to Bump Voltage to 1.55v to 1.6v??

I think 1800Mhz is alot for these types of Ram but not for sure first time Overclocking Memory & here Results on CPu-z http://valid.canardpc.com/2725712

Well new update I went to 1800Mhz it boot up & everything with 1.55v with No WER errors & Went to go do that Memtest & bam alot of Errors so Bump voltage up to 1.6v & still was getting Erros memtest & even bump it to 1.65v still errors :/

so went back to 1600Mhz with 1.5v & did Memtest for 2hrs it Passed 4 times :)  so does that mean I'm stable now? what timing do I put since i know its 7-7-7-21 but not sure if i can put that since I OC it?? anyone help a brotha out would appreciate it :)

Sorry for the delay, Tom was having a site update, Yes looks like you have found a suitable overclock for the dimms. Now keepem @ 1600 @ 9-11-11-29 and then if you want more than try if you can go lower like 9-10-10 24 etc on 1.5v or upto 1.6v
Please remember its not safe to go over 1.65v as it can cause damage.
Nice Overclock Congrats :)

Ya no problem like the new site they got going on :)  but anyway I have it set up at 1600Mhz with 9-9-9-24 timing with only 1.5v!! is that ok? or just put it 9-11-11-29?? Also if I wanna go Higher on the Mhz clock do I keep voltage under 1.65v?? how long do I run that Memtest program when OC memory? & do I have to do it all the time when Overclocking Memory?

Thanks for the Help

Try to keepem @ my proposed settings 1600Mhz with 9-9-9-24 timing with only 1.5v if stable thats the best! If you have to go even higher your modules might not coupe so its best to stay where you are now. Your still squeezing out 200MHz+ from the rated speed its v.good. Yes they might give you even more but if you find it worth it you can repeat those process again. Yes each time you change anything with memory its best to run few times memtest. Also note your rams running 1600MHZ @4GHz doesnt mean they will run/stable @ same setting when your on 4.5GHz everything is related to each other and the quality of components. Best Regards

oh ya ight I prob will keep them at 1600Mhz if I cant hit 1800Mhz I know last Nite I did 1800Mhz with voltage of 1.5v that wasn't Stable bump it to 1.55v still Errors tried 1.6v & it seems Stable but when testing & stuff got alot of Errors so didnt know if 1.65v or over was ok or not!! So running my ram at 1600Mhz makes the Ram 4Ghz??

Thanks for your help
