Hello, I have an older notebook with a 1ghz processor. It's an M-Tech 8500V 1G or ProStar 8593. They used to sell a ProStar 8800 Cpu Upgrade Kit, but I can't find one.

Hi newcomer and welcome to the Tom's hardware forum.

Since the notebook is a little old, I think that is very difficult find one. Even that, if u can find it I think that u won't see a big performance difference.

I found out it's a 1000mhz Pentium III. Maybe that helps.

Not much, since the mobo need support the new CPU and for that u need the CPU support list of the mobo.

Based on the processor history. I can go up to a 1.4 ghz mobile Athlon chip. Not really worth it, even if I could find one.
