The Case is $39 and has only one review ... It prolly will be ok but you can do better ... always consider the shipping, on cases ... Try sorting on "Most Reviews"

SONY SATA DVDR is just fine

7200.12 is great

Monitor is fine .. lacks DVI connector ... has HDMI and VGA.

Saphire 5750 is great ... 5770 would be even better ... stretch!

I would like to bump you up to a Corsair 650W because you may end up with two 5850s or two 470s, some day ... Times do change, and so do our "needs"!
... NO CHANGE IN PRICE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

The RAM is nice ... 2x2-1333c8 ... You can get faster for $11 more 1600c7 but I say you should stick with what you have.

CPU looks just great ...

MOBO ... NOPE. This is not the place to compromise ... BIOSTAR is usually a "no-go", in my book, unless for a unique, physical solution.

See if MSI or Gigabyte make a board, in that class. (the socket and chipset are fine).

You want to stick with the Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB or Seagate Barracude 7200.12 500 GB or 1 TB version of either one. I think the 5770 is good for your resolution.

What's your maximum comfortable budget, intended use. I'm assuming gaming?

The reason I recommend those drives is not because of capacity, but for performance. Those drives are single, 500 GB platter drives so the data is more dense.

Your new link for psu is bad -goes to a data ram
your combo case link is bad as well.

What's wrong with my build? Other than no crossfire board?

This build will cost $900 after rebate and is much better than what you have listed

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 GB DDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GPU: HD Radeon 5850
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Motherboard: ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Case: Cooler Master HAF 922
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

PSU: Corsair 650TX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If you want to save some money, you can swap the CPU out for an AMD Phenom II X3 720. that would save you $30 or so.

whoops, DVD drive for $25. Just pick one.

your guys's are just too expensive remember my budget was 840$ definitely cant go over 900 and i dont like rebates much i decided to go with my build and the samsung hdd thanks for comments ordering my new computer :)  as soon as someone reassures me my
case+mobo = good
BIG STEP from this shitty dell dimension 2400 im using
edit: and i got the 5770 and does the mobo holes on the case go with the mobo i chose?

Oh. for some reason, I was thinking that he didn't have a monitor in the original build. My bad.

REMOVE 5850

REPLACE WITH 5770
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

ADD Hanns G 1680x1050 22" monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

$930 with DVD drive and after rebate.

Please consider. for 90 more dollars, this build will be much much better than what you originally spec'd. Or trade the Phenom II x4 for a Phenom II x3 720.

brennon's build is great too, though.

With your lower resolution monitor, it would be $30 cheaper.

any ATX case has the proper placement of mounting holes for ATX motherboards. You should definitely go with the HAF, though. It's a much better case.

Also, how long will it take you to save $90 for something you'll have for a few years?

dont have 90bucks cause im poor lol thats just it and id like to say

The Electronic Waste Recycling Act ("Act") became law in California on January 1, 2005. The primary objective of this law is to initiate a recycling program for computer products containing chemicals deemed hazardous to the environment. To fund this program, California requires retailers and e-tailers to collect, on the state's behalf, a fee for each product covered by this law. The fee is paid by the consumer at the time of purchase of the covered product. This fee will be remitted directly to the state by us and only applies to orders shipped within California.

******* california needs to chill on the god damn taxes $16 for that and 63$ for the dam sales tax

your proc and mobo are great !!!

... Go with the RipJaws 1600c7 if you have the extra $10

... I hate quotes that include rebates ! Means NOTHING! Quote me "shipped before rebates"

You are all good ... hope that PSU link was to that 650Watt corsair !

The Spinpoints are cheaper and faster and better. ... all around !

I am not ABOUT to "get into it" with you over rebates ... suffice it to say ... "I very much disagree" ... Further ... they are willfully deceptive and intentionally confusing.

... I will read one response, to this ... but will post, no more, on the subject.

= Perfect choices of components, tho = (but you don't need ME to tell you that).

I've never found rebates to be confusing. I'd rather just have the savings up front, but I've never had a rebate not come. Even when the post office rejected it, Corsair accepted my rebate after the deadline as long as I provided the original post-marked envelope. You have to like print a form, sign it, and cut a upc out. It's probably on the same level of difficulty as tying your shoe.

For every person that is like you, there are TEN like me ... that is what rebates are all about and that is what the perpetrators are counting on!

Further, I have changed my orders three times this week because of the "new deceptive format", at my (former?) parts supplier of choice. First, all the better mobo combos disappear ... and, then, they start disguising "after rebate" prices as if they were "out the door" ... I have unopenned mail that is months old ... I wear loafers.

... DANG !!! YOU GOT ME !!! THAT WAS MY LAST (that one) POST (on the subject) !!!
