Am I missing something?! 7970

Ok, so I got my sapphire 7970 right up to 1125 core and 1600 mem, ran furmark for 15 min burn in at 1080p, no artifacts, never went over 70c. sounds good. However, every time I try to play a game, it gives me a directx crash. So I started scaling down, basically it wont even let me play a game at 1000 core, just 50 over, everything has to be reset to play anything. Any ideas? i'm pretty pissed about this, as overclocking was one of the largest draws to AMD. Thanks.

Well not every GPU or CPU is going to overclock well. It is really just luck of the draw as to whether you will get one that will overclock well. But even at stock the 7970 is still a very fast GPU. Just be happy with what you have and enjoy your gaming.

Yeah I guess so, just kinda strange to me, fully stable when bench marking, doesn't get artifacts, but oh well. I think I've gotten it to at least run at 1025 and 1500, so I'll be happy with that.
