Lets see, the 5870 is the same length and fits into my mid-tower case. What i would do is find the exact case you have on Newegg and read the reviews, you'll likely find out if someone attempted to put a 5870 or 5830 in the case and if they were successful or not. Hope this helps.

Well I have an Hp case.

in that case (no pun) i would just get the dimensions of the 5830 and measure inside the case where the card would go, what kind of HP is it, and what kind of video card do you currently have in there?

It's a a6500z. And a terrible 9300 GE.

Well it's a le-1660 But I'm going to upgrade it to a phenom ii 555 X2 and try to unlock the cores.

It depends on the model. The reference 5830 basically sits on the 5870 board. I'm guess it's due to the early reports of issues with the initial 5830 board design and they just slapped it on something that would work in order to launch it. Anyway, vendors are free to make smaller versions, like XFX, so it just depends on which model.

Well i'm looking at these two, but I don't know which Is a better bang for my buck
