Something like this will work: http://www.coolgear.com/images/SATA-IDE-U2.jpg

You will also need a 4-pin Molex plug for the power to the DVD drive. If you don't have an extra, try a splitter, something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812706030&cm_re=Molex_splitter-_-12-706-030-_-Product
  2. Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just get a SATA DVD drive or if you must keep your old drive what about a SATA PCI expansion card?
  3. i ended up just buying a 20 dollar samsung dvd w/ sata from newegg... didn't realize they were so cheap these days...thanx 4 the input... appreciated as always
