Hello all I have a gigabyte mobo ga-m785-us2h with a phenom ii x4 965 8gig of mem Win7. My question is when I look at CPUID it shows 2 cores not 4. Same thing for SIW PCwizard2010 Pc wizard will show 4 core whern you look at CPU but 2 cores do nothing it states they are active but there is no usage by those 2 cores. Did I do sometrhing wrong in my Bios setup or what. Thanks for any help

if PC wizard is showing 4 core (2 inactive) is probably because they are activated at bios.

You can try to reset bios (clear cmos), and also update bios. If you still have the same issue, the only way to make sure if a CPU problem or a motherboard problem is by trying your CPU with another motherboard or your motherboard with another 4 core CPU.

You can try to use Prime95's bleed test and windows task manager (@performance) to check if there is activity in all 4 cores. I never used those programs you mention.
