Hello,my desktop when it boots-up says that there is a error loading operating system. What should I do

Try starting in safemode and use system restore/repair, are you sure thats all the message says?
Is this a ms-dos machine by any chance or are you just having fun with us?

Yes this is a dos and heres what happens, I turn on the computer and it starts to boot up but after about a minute, still in the dos or setup screen where you could normally get to safe mode, it stops and says error loading operating system. I can not even get to a safe mode screen or anything other than the boot up syncroism or stage of the boot up
