Samsung DVD Burner, Model TS-H552

I am about two weeks away from building a new PC. I found a DVD reader(Samsung Drive Model TS-H552) from an older computer we had a few years back. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it and if it will still be able to be used with a modern computer build or if it is obsolete now.

If i can save even 20 bucks i consider it a win.

Being an old IDE drive it is obsolete since most new motherboards do not offer IDE connections!

Even if you get a motherboard that still has an IDE connection is not wort it.
You are better off getting any new SATA DVD writer.

Hint: Bluray's are becoming cheap enough to consider one now, specially in a new build.
