Well, if you're not so much interested in DX11 (not that the 5670 is the "best fit" for it though), the 9800GT is slightly faster across the board, but draws more power also.

Either is a good option for actual games and medium/high settings overall in games.

Also, what is your monitor resolution?

Cheers!

The 5670 is more effecient in both power and heat. And Its just as fast as the eco 9800GT which you should be comparing too. Regualr 9800GT will be faster but needs the power pin and are typically larger cards.

Get the HD5670.

Its power consumption is very impressive.

It may perform better with newer driver updates.

I say 9800GT. True the 5670 is more efficient as far as power goes, but the 9800GT is generally faster. Even though the 5670 has DX11, so far it seems too slow to effectively do anything with it. If you want DX11, then the minimum you should be looking at is the 5750.

I agree with mega on the 9800GT

I disagree with the 5750 only because its currently over priced ($10 less then 5770).

No one has asked the important question which is what resolution you plan on using. Unless it is low(1280x1024 and below) neither of these cards are appropriate.

Yeah, even the worst 500w should be able to handle the HD5670.
