Why do you want 2GB Model?

You think 2GB will give better performance over 1GB?

No,there will be only slight gain.
1Gb is plenty for 5870.

2GB versions in crossfire might be good choice for eyefinity setups...

I too am debating if I should go with a 5870 1GB card with intentions of picking up another 5870 card in the next few months, or waiting for the the 2GB cards to come out. I just came across this article annoucing the new ASUS 5870 2GB card being released, with some additional features. I'm not running Eyefinity so running two 5870 2GB cards in crossfire would be overkill on the memory.

Only by sacrificing half the memory on the 2GB card.
