Pc help

hi,
firstly my apologies if the post is in a wrong location. I picked up a budget pc with an asus m2n68 am plus mother board with 2 gigs of ram. Now i have been using the onboard graphics card an i would like to upgrade to the best card within the motherboards capability. I have heard 2.0 express can be run on this mother board but it will not be too efficient as the otherboard is only a pci e16 slot. Therfore kindly suggest the best card i can use for my situation an no, I am not looking for pci 2.0 cards or newer models which use cooler master an so on... M trying to finish it off within a small budget. More of my comp details are given below

  1. Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

    Monitor resolution = 1680 x 1050 {D-Sub, DVI-D}
    MOBO ASUS M2N68-AM PLUS http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=N9gfnjYUinlROPLf
    I assume 1 x PCIe x16 v1.0a

    Direct X 11 GPUs ; Side-by-Side http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709&IsNodeId=1&srchInDesc=HD%205770&page=1&bop=And&ActiveSearchResult=True&CompareItemList=48|14-130-594^14-130-594-TS,14-130-573^14-130-573-02%23,14-150-474^14-150-474-TS,14-150-447^14-150-447-TS
    GT 430
    GTS 450
    HD 5570
    HD 5750
  2. At your resolution, the PCIe x16 factor won't be an issue.

    To get the most bang you can get at your resolution I recommend an HD 5850.

    PowerColor HD 5850 - $169.99 and free shipping.

    If $170 exceeds your budget, then I recommend going with any of the cards on Jaquith's list.
  3. Apparently, my side-by-side got screwed-up; for ATI I recommend XFX GPUs.

    The problem with anything > HD 5770 is they will Bottleneck your CPU + MOBO. Good video to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGdo75gasaQ
