What happens if i work inside a computer without an earthing band

Hello,
what can happen if I work inside my computer if my grounding strap fails to work. Every thing now powers up but nothing shows on the monitor

The effects range anywhere from absolutely nothing to the entire computer becoming a useless pile of junk.

Given your terse description of the problems, I'd say try reseating the video card.
