To be able to help you we need to know the error code from the Blue screen of death. Then tell us how your google search for that error went.

Anything here:

Or nothing useful?

Although I can't see it being a likely cause, the older phenoms with a 8x00 number had a terrible bug called the TLB bug, but I don't believe it would cause a BSOD like that. It was fixed in the 8x50 model numbers. There were also bios patches that reduced CPU performance in exchange for eliminating the bug.

When does it occur? Every boot up before windows finishes loading?

Check your bios setting after inserting the phenom to make sure the settings are correct for FSB.

I assume with hirens you checked the hard drive and memory for errors. Did you check CPU stability too?

That's all I can really think of. If you keep having problem, let me know and I'll see if I can come up with anything else. What is your motherboard brand and model?

sorry for my english
Your english is better than a lot of people on this forum who's first language is english. :D

What motherboard do you have? Are you absolutely sure the 8400 is supported? It's the only thing I can think of that Enzo Matrix didn't already mention.
