PCIE/4870 Question

I recently put in my new Auzentech Forte soundcard and have noticed that my PCI-E speed at least for my 4870 has dropped to 8X rather than 16x. Is this normal? The Forte uses a PCI-E slot, not PCI. 4870 is in the blue slot and Forte is in the Black slot, which I believe is correct.

I'm guessing this is the cause. With this effect performance or anything? Can someone please confirm this? I'm a little disturbed by this.

IMO the 8x limit won't hurt the perf much.

You should not see any big difference

So I figured out the soundcard shouldn't be in the back slot lmao. Problem is when I move it to another smaller PCIE 1x slot(which is where it should be), it's EXTREMELY close to the vid card and there is some static being picked up from the videocard. 4870 is running in 16x now though.
