hi all and happy new year! i'm new here and have a pc i built in 2003. it still runs very smooth/fast but i want to upgrade it a little cause i recently started playing my nascar racing 2003 sim again and they have so many mods/game updates now and they of course take more powere from every component of a pc..lol! my system now consists of:
amd athlon 2400 cpu
asus a7n8x deluxe mobo
nvidia geforce4 4600ti 128mb video
512mb (ddr400 pc3200) memory
i know i truly need to build a new pc and plan on it around summer but i want to get the most performance boost i can with as little $ as possible right now.i'm guessing video and memory will be easiest/cheapest. i recently read about my mobo and it is dual channel memory which sounds like it'll give a more performance. will it? if so, i plan to order a kingston 1gb(2x512) ddr400 pc3200 dual channel kit and a jaton geforce 6200 512mb ddr 64bit card. i'm thinking this will help my in game performance somewhat considering what i have now. the pc runs great, it's just that i have taken a hit in fps with the new mods and graphic updates to the game. any advice/ideas are welcomed and appreciated. thanks.
