Using my Qnap 10 TB NAS tp record TV shows

I have a 10 TB Qnap NAS I would like to use as a DVR in conjunction with my Verizon FIOS Motorola QIP 7100-2 non DVR unit. Is there some style of TV Tuner USB unit I could pipe thru my PC and have the TV recordings saved to the NAS (aka DVR). it does have a feature you can enable it from within the NAS?

Your QNAP is a great storage device, but it just doesn't have the tuner card or software (like Beyond TV) to function alone.

There are a number of pretty good USB TV tuner/recording devices available, I've used Hauppauge PCI cards in the past and they worked fine and they have several USB tuners but weak software compared to Beyond TV or something similar.

I have a nice Happauge PCI-e Tuner in my i7-2700k so I dont think the tuner will be a problem, it patches into the Verizon STB via component cable/HDMI.

just wondered if it was possible. to use the NAS as just another save location in lieu of my local drive.
